The messianic prophecies about
Jesus' birth: the location, the way, and time of his birth, about his
genealogy, and about events which were to occur at the time of his birth, all
these are a very good idea to create a devotional and a time of Prayer for
Christmas.
A
quantity of the more beautiful and astounding proclamations about the Messiah
in the Old Testament are those concerning His ancestry. Opposite to what
some might say, there are very precise prophecies about this, each of which
Jesus fulfilled.
From
the first one that we can find in:
Genesis
3:15
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your
offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will
bruise his heel.”
This is taken by many as one of the initial Messianic prophecies unfolding
Satan’s short triumph over Messiah and Messiah’s final victory over Satan.
Galatians 4:4
4But when
the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born
under the law, 4But when the fullness of the time came, God
sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law)
The
Bible makes note of numerous other aspects of the worldly lineage the Messiah
will come from. In Genesis
12:3, God is making a promise to Abraham about the preeminence his children
will have over the earth and says, “In you will all of the families
of the earth be blessed.” This is customary as a pronouncement
that the Messiah would descend from Abraham as Messiah is the foundation of all
true blessings. From Isaac, son of Abraham, to Jacob, son of Isaac and to Judah, son of Jacob (or Israel )
to us.
In
the Book of Matthew, the first chapter accounts of the life of Jesus by
describing His lineage as coming from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob to Judah and so
on. Luke tells us Jesus’ ancestry Luke 3:33-34.
Paul
in Romans 1:3-4 says
Paul
grew up in the sect
of the Pharisees .The Mishnah
("repetition”
the first major written redaction of the Jewish oral traditions called the
"Oral Torah")
and the Talmud, (instruction,
learning","teach, study" , a central text of mainstream Judaism.
It takes the form of a record of rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law,
ethics, philosophy, customs and history). As a
Pharisee, he was devoted to theological issues. These texts are concerned
primarily with interpretations of Jewish law, and anecdotes about the sages and
their values, which
in his time destined that he had a strong knowledge and understanding of the
Old Testament. For him to claim Jesus as the foretold Messiah was no
small admission. The Jewish leaders, his ex-companions, were very clear on Paul’s position; they
repeatedly tried to kill him for it
Isaiah predicted
the virgin birth of Jesus and His Name
Isaiah 7:14 Amplified Bible
14Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young
woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall
call his name Immanuel [God with us].
Isaiah 9:6-7
6For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government
shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no
end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to
uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the [latter] time forth,
even forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
The Messiah would be born in Bethlehem
Micah
5:1-2
1NOW GATHER yourself
in troops, O daughter of troops; a state of siege has been placed against us.
They shall smite the ruler of Israel
with a rod (a scepter) on the cheek.
2But you, Bethlehem
Ephratah, you are little to be among the clans of Judah; [yet] out of you shall
One come forth for Me Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have
been from of old, from ancient days (eternity).
The Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah
Genesis 49:10
The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his

The Messiah would be a descendant of King David
Jeremiah 23:5:
"The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land

A couple year ago Martha Tennison ** visited our church in Memphis TN
and she spoke about Jesus in every book of the Bible. She is a little lady,
but could "rock your socks" my teens girls said.
Good idea is to pray and Honor Him as HE is.
John 8:58
58 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham
was even born, I Am![a]”
Or before
Abraham was even born, I have always been alive; Greek reads before
Abraham was, I am. See Exodus 3:14.

The history of Christmas is old than 2011 years
**
Martha Tennison has traveled across America
preaching retreats for women and holding evangelistic crusades with her
husband, evangelist W. Don Tennison. They have served together for more than 29
years of ministry.
The Tennisons pastored First Assembly of God in Radcliff , Kentucky ,
from 1978 to 1990 and saw the church grow from 80 to more than 700 people. On
May 14, 1988, First Assembly experienced a fiery trial when their church bus
was hit head-on by a drunk driver, resulting in the deaths of 24 children and
three adults. Through that tragedy,
the Tennisons experienced God’s sustaining power and saw His healing touch in
the lives of their hurting parishioners.
