Prayer: Lord, Increase our Faith.

One powerful reason to pray is found in the fact that prayer was instituted by God.  He asks us over and over in His Word to pray. Jesus himself knew that there are many situations in life in which we lose confidence and strength in the purpose of prayer, so he gave us His word.  When His disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray in Luke 11, our Master and Teacher responded:

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”  Luke 11:9-10 (NIV)
Today we came to the Lord with the same request, “Lord, teach me how to pray,” and His answer is the same.
As faithful helpers, we should obey the commands of God. Yet even the most faithful and dedicated servant must at one time or other think about the purpose and the principles of prayer.

Our questions are valid:

Why do I need to pray?
Why do I need to ask Him, when He is God and already knows everything and controls everything?
If He is omnipotent, powerful, and omniscient, why does He say “Ask Me”?

Proper prayer to God must have a beneficial impact on human nature, for if it did not, God would never ask us to do it. Prayer leads us to exemplify godly character in our lives, and brings us closer to being like God in our behavior, actions, and conduct.
Before you enter in this study together take your time, date your answers in a separated sheet of paper these questions. Maybe you will need a small notebook so you can keep your entire notes together.
In a couple of day you will need to come to your note and compare your progress.

Luke 17:5 (AMP)

5The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from

 our belief in God).

Today ask to the Lord to increase your faith. Start our trip of faith with God involve that we throw ourselves in His Word. We must study about His love, His justice, His mercy, and His plan. But most import His promises .We must have a connection, a link, an association, a relation with Him, so that we can be acquainted with Him
